The spirit of port moody (2021)

When we first meet Dr. Mary Anne Cooper she is 104 and her hometown of Port Moody is the same age. The film tells the city’s story in tandem with a recounting of Mary Anne’s quirky and eventful life. 

This remarkable lady is active on social media and fights relentlessly at public meetings for heritage preservation and environmental protection.  She is a person with a clear sense of history and a great sense of humour. 

The history of the area is told from a variety of perspectives including First Nations and conveys the impacts of historical decisions on today’s natural and man-made environments.
